On Saturday (1st April), I’m going to Scotland for every week. I’m staying in Glasgow that night time, then on Sunday I’ll journey by practice to Mallaig alongside the West Highland Line – one of the crucial spectacular practice journeys I do know of. From Mallaig I’ll take a ferry over to Armadale on the Isle of Skye, then a bus to Sabhal Mòr Ostaig (SMO), the Gaelic faculty the place I’ll be doing a course in Scottish Gaelic songs.

I’ve been to SMO many instances earlier than to do simliar programs, and am wanting ahead to it very a lot. Though the course is taught in English, there will probably be loads of alternatives to talk Scottish Gaelic, and possibly different languages. So, for the previous few months, I’ve been brushing up my Gaelic on Duolingo.

I’ll be travelling from Glasgow with a Dutch buddy I met again in 2019 after we each did a Gaelic track course at SMO. We’ve saved in contact ever since, and he or she, her husband and daughter came around me in 2022. Once we met, I had solely a primary data of Dutch – now I can perceive and skim it fairly properly, and converse and write it to some extent. My Dutch buddy has learnt Welsh and Scottish Gaelic, with a bit assist from me, and Duolingo.

On the best way residence I’ll stick with my mum for just a few days, and we’ll be celebrating my birthday on ninth April.

Whereas I’m away, I most likely gained’t have a lot time to replace Omniglot, or to write down weblog posts or make podcasts.
